Lots of walking, drinking, and eating. Terrific dinner at antebellum home in the Garden district arranged by Mike. Home owned by an antique dealer/chef. Ate on the veranda. Beautiful restored home filled with antiques. All kinds of snacks-fattening. Shrimp, avacado dips, all kinds of cheeses, hummus, etc. Dinner was a veal creole dish over rice, beef with mushrooms and shredded pork along with salad with various dressings. Birthday cake for dessert. Denny kinda knew about it and got dressed up in a hippie outfit with wig, big glasses, bandana. He got all kinds of gag gifts. It was truly a long, memorable evening of fun.
Day 3
Great outdoor breakfast. Sunny and 90. Crayfish omelette for me.
I did my own thing today. The others went to the WWII museum. I chose to walk the antique district-
Royal St. and then shopped a little. I returned to the hotel and worked out at the health club . Then
I went to the pool for a while.

day one- New Orleans
Aftter a big hassle being rerouted to Atlanta, we finally got to New Orleans at 5:30 to hook up with
our groups of 20. Nine Mooney grads, spouses, and a couple singles. Fabulous time at O'Brien's
last night. Lots of jazz, drinks, and friendship with people we haven't seen for 30+ years.
Dined on shrimp and grits and had a mint julep that had so much bourbon in it, I actually choked!
Staying at the Marriott in the French Quarter.

New Orleans 2010
Leaving Thurs. Sept. 23 for New Orleans. This is my second visit. The first was before Katrina. I love this
city. It has so much culture and such great food!! I just hate the idea of flying from Pittsburgh to Cinci then connecting to NO. Did not have to do that before. It is just a 2 hour flight!!
Looking forward to hooking up with some old friends from 40+ years ago. Should be fun!
